Series Race 8 - Encino Velodrome - Encino CA
[Encino CA - by Joe Myers] The final VELODROME race of this years series came a couple months earlier than originally scheduled. With the Encino Velodrome making rennovation plans our event was moved from November to September.
Most racers were not disappointed by this change since they love putting their machines to the challenge of this high speed super speedway as often as possible.
Series regulars saw a few old faces show up at this months event along with a few new first timers as well. Roger Pane, the undisputed king of the Encino Velodrome in recent years showed up with his son Chris who was making his oval debut. Chris set a blistering pace in the sportsman modified class turning in a 23 lap run and sitting on the pole for the main.
Other faces from the past include Eric Larsen, Mark Dunn, Rick Noel and Dennis Brown who I'd like to thank for dusting off their old cars and coming out to have a little fun.
