2002 Race 7 - Crystal Park Raceway, Compton CA
[Compton CA]by Joe Myers - The second trip back to Crystal Park for the year found a little different track lay out. The track was still very fast, tacky and wide enough for some great racing.
Sportsman Stock - Steve Jacquez, current points leader took the win followed by Mike Plant and Joe Hawkins.
Sportsman Modified - Kevin Kilber, who's looking for a good series finish was able to hold off Donn Natale and T.J. Kendall to win today.
The 19t Spec Mod had a couple of "SILVA'S" to contend with this weekend. Both Duane and Darcy Silva put entries into this already HOT class. The main event had Duane edging out Larry Ruby for the win. Paul Cathey held off Darcy for third spot.
Expert Modified saw Daryl Silva come out to challenge the series regulars again. Silva, Erik Steenhoven and Sean Cochran were all running fast this weekend. Give the win to Silva, Steenhoven second and the third spot Cochran. Gary Hamilton suffered one of the worst weekends of racing I remember for a long time, I'm sure all those demons are gone, so WATCH out for Hamilton at the next race.
Novice - Bryan Myers got his first outing on a real track, after months of playing in the street and front yard. Bryan was able to out run his competitors today for his first race and his first win.
