This is the class that would prove to be
the class of choice for the ALLSTAR SHOOTOUT on
Sunday, so these drivers got some very valuable practice under similar race
conditions with the
running of a 14 car main event.
Sunday’s 4th running of the
SWTour ALLSTAR-SHOOTOUT saw a great battle of speed between
Joe Blackburn and Scot Petitclerc.
The Shootout would once again use a (4)
Lap – Single Car qualifying session to set the front 2 positions
in the 1st MAIN event. From
there, the (4) Lap qualifying would also set the line up for a single round
of qualifying heat races for the rest of the field.
The Starting grid for the second and
third main events (TRIPLE “A” MAINS) would be the finishing order
of the preceeding main event.
The fastest qualifier in the (4) lap run
went to Joe Blackburns 0:38.46, with
Scot’s (4) lap run being good
enough for the outside front row starting position with a 0:38.85.
Blackburn would take advantage of being locked on
the pole, and sit out of his qualifying heat race, but Petitclerc
choose his option to run in his w/o a threat of loosing his outside front row
starting position.
