We jumped on the 101 headed South from Santa
Maria,
took a ride up toward the top of Orcutt Hill
(This is looking East)
Looking over the Santa Maria Valley
Back on the SB 101 to San Marcos Pass (Hwy
154)
and up to the Bradbury Dam
(Pop and I made DAM jokes for an hour)
After the cold windy day, just one day
ago...it was SO gorgeous today!
From under the Oak trees. (we should have packed a picnic)
While the water level in Cachuma Lake is down a bit, it was still so pretty.
We headed up San Marcos Pass to the old
Stage Coach Road,
cut down to Paradise Rd, and back in about 6 miles to the road for
Rancho Osos. This is a campground and is pretty cool.
Rancho Osos has RV Camping, but they also
have public rentals, including these little cabins that look
like old Western Buildings.
They also have Tents that look like Chuckwagons
Back out to the old Paradise Road, and we
stopped at first creek crossing
for a quick pic. (I had to hurry, there were cars coming)
Then back out to the old Stagecoach Road...
The Cold Springs Bridge, and Stagecoach
Road.
There has been a lot of discussion about this bridge, and installing
anti-suicide railings
Somebody had just jumped earlier this week, #7 this year.
This is such a spectacular bridge, and such an awesome work of engineering.
They just don't make them like this anymore...
Or like THIS ONE!
